Multicultural Week

What is Multicultural Week? It is a day where students congregate while mingling and exposing themselves to many cultures of the world. With a proliferating increase of international students which generates more than AUD$25 million a year at Edith Cowan University (ECU) alone, its international enrolments exceed 3,000 with students originating from more than 80 countries. This year's theme: Love, Peace, Diversity & Unity, hopes to bring all these differing cultures together in the hope of bridging the gap between international students themselves and to reach out to local Australian students.

Significant Events:

· The art exhibition will showcase some of ECU’s own artists. Exhibits such aspaintings, sculptures, and anything that relates to a certain culture will be on display.We believe that art is a culture of its own and different cultures have differentrepresentations in art.
· Multi Cultural Carnival is one day filled with cultural performances, games and stalls that showcase a variety of different cultures across the globe.
· Expect a wicked time with food and performances, fancy dress contest and enjoy the Music of the World atmosphere. Gear up for, this year's MultiCultural Week of Love, Peace, Diversity & Unity!

What makes ECU MCW even more special and amazingly exciting is that this year it has Cambodian participant to showcase about Cambodian culture and to perform little bit of Khmer traditional dance.

As the only Cambodian at ECU, I am very thankful and inspired by all activities the school has organized so far. Life in Perth, specifically in ECU, is quite intriguing for I am not learning only something on the paper but from everything around me. However, the one thing that makes me hard is that there is no other student from my country. Therefore, I hope next year or the following years there will be an increase in number of Cambodian students who are coming to study and make their most enjoyable life in Australia (Thanks To PSP).
